Spiritual Teaching

Gabriel is a spiritual teacher and leadership mentor whose mission is to evoke, communicate, and manifest The Eternal with those who are ready, willing, and able to embrace the journey. As Head of Faculty for Quonova PTY LTD and Un Consulting Inc., and a teacher in the Spiritual Unfoldment Network, Gabriel has a unique background marked by spiritual and musical experiences from an early age.

As a child, Gabriel experienced numerous ecstatic, out-of-body states and held an intuitive grasp of Western music and Eastern spiritual practices. His musical journey began at age 4, while at rehearsals of his father’s all-male schola cantorum, when he mischievously hid among the pipes of the cathedral organ, singing the Latin altus parts an octave too high—but flawlessly—much to the choir director’s frustration. On the day of his First Communion in the Roman Catholic Church, after disappearing for hours, his parents found him in full lotus position at the base of a crab apple tree, wrapped in a towel, and deeply immersed in samadhi. This led him to study with a Jesuit mentor, read Aquinas, Aristotle, de Chardin, and Merton, and explore the physical and biological sciences. At 12, he was recognized for his potential in music and science and was introduced to Dr. Syd Hussein, Ph.D., director of virology research at the NIH labs in Chicago. Dr. Hussein mentored him in Indian philosophy, music, and Vedantic texts.

In 1968, after his family relocated to California, Gabriel became one of the early disciples of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, joining the start of the Transcendental Meditation movement in the U.S. Following several significant breakthroughs in this practice, he discovered Sant Mat (The Path of the Saints) and joined Radha Soami Satsang Beas, where he meditated 2.5 hours daily and lived as a disciple of Charan Singh Maharaj. In 1983, he received an inner directive from his Master to end this practice and engage with the world. Soon after, he earned full scholarships to the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and Rice University, obtaining a Master’s degree in music, with a focus on orchestral conducting and composition.

In 1988, Gabriel engaged in the work of Werner Erhard, gaining practical insights on applying spirituality to achieve extraordinary results. He eventually became a senior seminar leader for Landmark Education Corporation. After serving as Music Director for the Houston Youth Symphony, he co-founded Jupiter Systems (now Antares Audio Technologies), a software company specializing in advanced audio signal processing, where he worked for five years. Afterward, he joined Paradigm Consulting and JMW Consultants as a leadership development consultant and faculty member. In 1999, he joined Agilent Technologies, where he led a corporate change initiative that transformed the company's culture and yielded breakthrough business outcomes post-telecom crash.

In 2003, Gabriel was introduced to the work of the Spiritual Unfoldment Network and, after three years of intensive study with founder Irving Fuerst and senior teacher Mataji (Carol Singler), he was initiated as a certified teacher in S.U.N. disciplines.

During this time, he also founded and led the American Philharmonic Association as president for 13 years. In 2010, the Chinese government sponsored a seven-city tour of China under his artistic leadership with the American Philharmonic. In 2011, he received Special Congressional Recognition from the U.S. Congress for his contributions as a conductor, cultural ambassador, and community leader.

Gabriel is the author of *Subtle POWER – A Guide to the Human Operating System for Intentional Leaders* and has developed a leadership method that fosters high-performance cultures within organizations. He continues to bring the power of Spirit into his work as a composer, conductor, and mentor, influencing both the concert hall and his students. Gabriel resides in San Francisco, California, with his spouse, performance librarian, and violinist Krisha Montmorency.
